About Bin Xu, MD, PhD

Dr Xu, a board certified in acupuncture, has been a clinical supervisor at the New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine since 1999. Prior to that, he was a medical acupuncturist at the University Hospital Medical Center/SUNY at Stony Brook where he was part of a multidisciplinary team caring for children, women, and families with HIV/AIDS. He was a cancer research scientist at the International Bioimmune System laboratory in Great Neck, New York. He received a master’s degree in medicine from Harbin Medical University, China, and earned a diploma of acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine from the University of Heilongjiang, China. He earned a PhD in medicine and microbiology from Kanazawa Medical University, Japan. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Physiology & Biophysics at SUNY, where he conducted research on the effect of natural herbal inhibitors on oncogenic tyrosine kinases. Dr. Xu is the recipient of the Japan International Education Award.
